Iran censorship of Ashton cleavage inspires EU press

The BBC reported with outrage: “Asriran.com showed Iranian press pictures of Lady Ashton next to Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, with her black top raised higher than in the original.” (see picture from Reuters and picture of Iranian newspaper below).

The BJ can only share the BBC’s bewildered amazement: quite frankly, if you had to blacken out any part of High Representative Ashton, surely her cleavage would not be your first point of attention? The BJ reporters therefore consider that, in order to meet the reporting standards set by our Iranian colleagues, we will from now on publish pictures of  High Representative Ashton as follows:
