Hip Hip Hip Hurray! Big Brussels Bash for 100th Director-General

It’s official and the Brussels crowd is cheering: the European commission just created its 100th post at the level of Director-General, which translates into EU jargon as A15/A16, and in Wall Street jargon as €15-18K per month.

The Brussels Jungle can only wish them many more to come as this would at least ensure that the good old targets from the Lisbon Agenda (now redubbed Europe 2020) of jobs and growth would be reached. As the French say: “On n’est jamais aussi bien servi que par soi-même”.

  1. Excellent news, proof that Brussels really is the success story that French farmers have claimed all along.

The Wall Street number equates to well over 150 Hungarian asparagus pickers because some of them make as much as a hundred euro per month (ex. weekends and overtime). And all that asparagus will in turn provide a month’s worth of entree’s for the new boy. What an elegant, rounded economic model for all developing nations to follow.
