Council adopts drastic measures to fight crisis

The financial crisis is hitting even the European institutions, a press release by the Council states. With the increase of half-day parking costs in Brussels from 15 Euros to 25 Euros, the Council has decided to make the most of this stringent tax on anyone wishing to park in the center of Brussels, by renting the courtyard of their Justius Lipsius building on the Schumann roundabout, to anyone looking for a prime location to park in the center, and this, the BJ is said, at a very reasonable fee.

Though the measure has only been introduced recently, a trucks company has already signed up for a one year lease and is taking full advantage of its newly found parking spot, as evidenced by the picture below.

Food for thought for other institutions across Europe?
