President Buzek to launch daily paper
European Parliament President, Jerzy Buzek announced his intention to launch a newspaper that will publicise his activities. The planned publication, understood to be called “Daily Buzek World Review” is to launch in August and will have its estimated €20 million running costs paid out of the parliament’s communication budget. The paper will feature news about the president’s activities along with his commentary on world affairs. But it will not all be serious, he will also be writing a daily gardening column, giving his hints and tips of greening your garden and BuzekVision, his pick of the TV and radio highlights. There will also be a letter page, where his correspondence with leading world figures and congratulatory messages will be reproduced.
“This is an excellent way for all citizens to be kept informed about the life and work of their President,” a spokesperson said, after revealing plans to have the journal delivered every morning to all registered voters in the 27 member states. “It will be produced in all the official languages,” added the spokesperson, “but the Polish language will be the first off the press as it is important for the President’s staff to receive the paper first.”

This is great news!! I Hope they produce an Ipad exclusive version. I’d pay at least 5 euro every day to access it
Dear Neville! We are quite hopeful that this will be integrated in the euPad moving forward and agree with you: 5 Euros would be a bargain for such a fascinating read!
great to see the EU institutions finally making an effort to get the gospel out to the man on the street. I think this can in the long-term replace papers like Metro. But what will happen after Buzek? Will the paper be renamed “Schulz Daily”????
Dear Christian, Happy to see your impatience at this news. We have heard that “You Heard it from Schulz” could be the next iteration…the Polish translation could lose priority at that stage though…
