Infidelity to be prosecuted in France

Infidelity to be prosecuted in France: this was the controversial proposal of a member of the French parliament of the majority in today’s session. “It is time to tackle real problems of our society with courage: working classes will no longer tolerate the silence in front of marginal behaviours that are mining our society. Cheating husbands and wives must know that they will be prosecuted wherever they are, deprived of their French nationality, and sent back to where they come”.

“You can easily tell where they come from”, commented a bartender of a discrete hotel near La Défense, “a Hugo Boss suit and tie, a younger blond with them, and really arrogant on top of that…”.

“Unfair attack against catholic executives!” denounces a member of the opposition. “This government has no policy at all and is just trying to find scapegoats to make everyone forget the crisis. But driving people against each other is not the solution!”.

But it seems the proposal is already translating into targeted actions: after the recent arrest of a housewife driving a SUV with a pearl collar in the area of Montparnasse under the motive of “inappropriate use of a war vehicle in a civilian area”, the Prime Minister announced that her husband was under arrest, caught at the same time in suspicious company at a seminar in Deauville with female interns in marketing and communication. Fear is spreading in Paris among executives and politicians.

“The worst”, commented a journalist “is that if the law is adopted under the urgency procedure, it might become very difficult to find competent candidates for the Presidential election in 2012! All good candidates will have been deprived from their nationality and gone abroad, in international institutions”. Maybe an opportunity for Belgians, who might consider benefiting from some imported fresh new politicians from France who could have new ideas on the situation…
