Herman and Jose to become icons of the young?

The European Community provides funds and support to all sorts of educational projects. This is usually done in a hands off manner, the projects once funded having a life of their own.

But the BJ reporters found out about a project funded partially by EU and called Educomics . The project describes itself as “an European Union Comenius education project under the Life Long Learning Programme (…). It will show educators how online comics can be used in the classroom to enhance learning, engage and motivate students, and use technology in a practical and effective way.”

Good idea, you think…Certainly. But what comes to mind when looking at the site’s two leading comics:

Yes, a new era of life long learning is opening up…and Herminator with side-kick José are leading the class! The only question is: will Educomics turn into EUcomics? And as an aside: would they make you feel like studying?
