GPS software TomTom expanding choice of voices: EU interested
The technical press has been reporting for several days that the navigation system TomTom was expanding its choice of voices by adding a Darth Vader option, that will make any lost traveller feel like Luke Skywalker on a rainy day.
But the BJ reporters have been told by an unofficial source within TomTom that this is not a one-off operation and that more celebrity voices were to be expected. EU officials will, for example, soon have the option of getting directions in Haiku format with Herman Van Rompuy’s Flemishy sounding English, whilst others will be able to opt for a truculent and joyful Jose Manuel Barroso, exaggerated “rrrr” in French included. No recording have been planned for Catherine Ashton yet, as the anonymous source said “they were waiting to see if she was a stayer or a leaver”. The European Parliament will also have its share of contributors, Daniel Cohn-Bendit recording his famous “Ta Gueule”, with an added “et tourne à gauche”, whilst Nigel Farage was refused the possibility to make road condition comments, out of fear that his “watch out for damp conditions” would be considered too insulting to Van Rompuy.

lol, i think that the GPS makers ruled out Nigel Farage. IF this guy’s voice was used in the GPS there is a good chance that it will haunt it and then try to convince people to get out of the car, take off their shoes and put them in the car, make a molotov coctail and burn the car, and then send them 5 km in the opposite direction before giving them directions to where they need to go.
