Brussels calms Hawking’s fear of aliens
Search for extra-terrestials safer at EEAS?
In his recent Discovery Channel documentary, the world-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking expressed his fears that aliens could turn out to be belligerent plunderers of the earth’s resources: “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet.”
However, this was before he made his first contact with senior EU officials and Belgian politicians. “I feel relieved,” he explained, “obviously there is a good chance that advanced civilisations may find it impossible to make a decision to embark on interstellar raids, or even rustle up the cash to build the necessary ships.”
“Nevertheless, he told the Brussels Jungle, “just to be on the safe side, rather than actively trying to communicate with extra-terrestrials, humans should do everything possible to avoid contact. We should therefore fold SETI into the EEAS.”

As the saying goes… the only thing to fear is fear itself…

Well, Stephen is very smart person so if he says that we shouldn’t contact them we should listen.

Steven Hawkin I find is usually correct in most of his theories. The fact that aliens are out there (well, its not fact… yet) is something widely accepted amongst astrologers and if correct, the fact that they could be hostile is something that cant be ignored. Scientists are looking towards the telescopes used to monitor asteroids as tools that could be used as protection for the human race. Either way, its a topic I dont see going away.
Especially not with Hawkins promoting it!
Don`t worry about aliens. As much as you are searching for that term as much you are getting involved in apstract things.

Well, there is no doubt that we’re alone in the universe but nobody says that other forms of live are better developed than us.
It’s really hard to define how much truth is in Stephen’s theories.

Alien’s dont exist, let alone plunder this planet…we are doing that ourselves as humans.

It’s funny how there are people feel that aliens could be harmful to our civilization and some not. Stephen is brilliant and we can take sides to think that maybe changing our focus on finding out technology will benefit us while trying to contact other life-forces.
I’m with Steve! I’m in no rush to meet up with any Aliens. We’re not doing as bad as people like to talk cr*p about.
