No one left in the closets?

Ricky Martin, the 38 year old Puertorican singer that hit world fame with songs such as ‘Livin’ la Vida Loca’ and ‘The cup of life/La copa de la vida’, the official anthem of the soccer world cup of 1998, posted a message on his website stating that he was a homosexual.

While this coming out of the closet probably only surprised a couple of bush men in down under Australia that never had access to a TV screen, it did trigger a flurry of other declarations, many celebrities and less known individuals coming out of the closet.

In a statement on her website, Madonna and Demi Moore jointly revealed that even though they looked like hot stuff, they could not be qualified a young anymore, even if “old” was probably not the adequate adjective.

In a similar vein, President Barack Obama posted a YouTube video in which he stated he was black, creating a flurry of reactions across all social networks, with a peak spotted on Twitter at 2:00 am EST.

Finally, Mr John Fitzpatrick from 22 Mullony Drive in Kansas posted a message on his blog informing all of his neighbours that he was the one “peeing in their mailbox”, and that he would commit to follow therapy to “deal with this”.
