Chatroulette to be adopted by European Council?
To think Herman Van Rompuy was compared to a “wet rag” in the European Parliament, not so long ago! In a bold move that astonished both the EU institutions and the capitals of every Member State, the President of the European Council followed-up on his suggestion to hold monthly European Council summits by writing a letter to all the Heads of State and Government of the 27 Member States explaining how he was proposing to handle logistics.
Though this letter is confidential, BJ reporters were able to catch glimpses of it, which we have reproduced below:
“in times of crisis
leaders’ spirits need to bond
Chatroulette we use”
Not being the masters of Haiku ourselves, we contacted sources close to Van Rompuy and received confirmation that in light of the need to solve the world-wide crisis affecting Europe whilst trying to limit CO2 emissions, the President of the European Council had suggested to the participants to use Chatroulette for one out of two European Summits.
Our anonymous sources explained that “Van Rompuy is tired of his “non cool” label and thought this would get him brownie points with the young people in the street. Obviously , this would happen in closed user group, as no one sees the need to be confronted to non Heads of State or Government wanking themselves“ . It seems the first test between the Bonn and Brussels led to some surprises on both sides, and when we contacted Paris for their views, we were told that President Sarkozy did not want to comment yet, even though one of his aides said “he sure hoped he wouldn’t have to chat with some nobody President of a tiny country when he could be using his time talking to Angie“.
